TORREZ -- Marian A. Torrez 79, beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away Saturday, March 3, 2007, at her home, while surrounded by her loving family. Marian was a resident of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her parents Andres and Mary Anaya. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Luis M. Torrez, Sr. of the family home; seven sons Jose, Gilbert, Ronnie, Jack, Karl, Louie and Martin; six daughters Sandra Sanchez, Debbie Valles, Karen Torrez, Martha Torrez, Linda Barela and Georgette Gurule; 25 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are numerous brothers and sisters; and her Sunday Coffee buddy, Sister Carlota Mora. Marian loved spending time with her grandchildren and working her cross word puzzles. On behalf of the family a special THANK YOU is extended to the Odyssey Hospice staff for the care given to Marian; and also to her Caregiver Elsa Rico. Marian will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Visitations will be Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services-Alameda Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at San Jose de Duranes Catholic Mission, 2110 Los Luceros Rd. NW (Los Duranes). Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at John the XXIII Catholic Church, 4831 Tramway Ridge Dr.,NE. Interment will follow at Anaya's Cemetery in Tijeras, NM. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Shannon Torres, Gilbert Tomas Torres, Ronnie Torres, Jr., Tisha Sanchez, Bryan Valles, Philip Barela, Jennifer Navarrete and Justin Torrez. Honorary bearers will be Michelle Torrez, Jonah Torrez, Vanessa Sanchez, Daniel Torrez and Victoria Gurule.
