RICHARDSON -- Mildred N. Richardson, age 87, went home to be with the Lord, on December 31, 2006 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born on May 4, 1919 to Joseph and Vesta Noble in Atlanta, GA. Mildred at heart was as a homemaker, but she did enjoy working outside of the home. She was a secretary for Swift & Co. in Waycross, GA. Mildred married Russell Richardson in 1943 in Waycross, GA and traveled to Japan in 1945 and Germany in 1959 for the military. After Russell retired from the United States Air Force in 1963, the family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she worked as a librarian for the Zimmerman Library at UNM. In recent years she was the Chairman of the Board for the Santa Fe County Association for Family Community Education Extension of New Mexico State University. Mildred was very active in the First Baptist Church of Edgewood, NM and kept busy doing all sorts of arts and crafts. Mildred is survived by her two children: one son, Robert Scott Richardson and wife, Joan of Bear, DE, and one daughter, Virginia Kulpit and husband, Michael of Poulsbo, WA; one son-in-law, Thomas N. Thompson of Albuquerque, NM; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; one sister, Mary Ellen Hattaway and husband, Dewitt of Waycross, GA. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Scott Richardson in 2002 and one daughter, Margaret Ann Thompson in 2006. A Memorial Service will be on Thursday, January 11, 2006 at 2:00 p.m., First Baptist Church of Edgewood, NM with Pastor Brian Piatt, officiating. Friends may visit on Thursday, January 11, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel. Interment will be on Friday, January 12, 2006 at 10:00 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
