WHEELER -- Marianne Cabrin Wheeler, a resident of Albuquerque since 1971, died Sunday, December 17, 2006 in her home. Marianne was born in 1930 in Helena, MT and was the first of three children. Marianne died at home surrounded by her husband and her seven children. Marianne is survived by her husband, Colonel Bruce Wheeler; her seven children; and his three children. They enjoy 29 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Marianne's children are Richard Ryan and his wife, Michelle living in Albuquerque, Christine Palmer resides in Tacoma, WA, Myrle Zilkoski and her husband, Mark live in Wolf Point, MT, Thomas Ryan and wife, Tammy Metheny live in Albuquerque, Theresa Nebel lives in Tacoma, WA, Shaughnessy Ryan and his new bride, Petra live in Newport Beach, CA, Shannon Chapa and her husband, Armando reside in Colorado Springs, CO, David Wheeler lives with his wife, Vicki in Denver, CO, Carol Wheeler lives in Sacramento, CA, and Stephen Wheeler and his wife, Robin reside in Stockton, CA. Marianne was an outspoken advocate of women health and derived great pride and immense pleasure from career of over 55 years as a nurse and OBGYN Nurse Practitioner. Up until a few months ago Marianne served the community at Lovelace Clinic, and the public health department. Her career included ten years at the Maternity and Infant Care Project and 15 years of service at Lovelace Hospital. She touched the lives of many and was an inspiration to her co-workers. Marianne also enjoyed travel, gardening, sewing, and she was a passionate skier. She served her church as a Eucharistic minister and a Marionites. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at Our Lady of Annunciation Parish, 2532 Vermont St. NE at 8:30 a.m., Father Thomas Kayammakal, Celebrant. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to The Sisters of the Poor in Gallup, NM.
