HUMPHREY -- Lucie Gloria Humphrey, 84, died Thursday, November 16, 2006. Lucie was born in Providence, RI, the youngest of six children. She attended the University of Rhode Island where she majored in Chemistry. Lucie met her husband, Richard, in 1949 and they were married the next year. After working for ten years as a chemist in Providence, Lucie became a public school teacher and taught sixth grade for 31 years in Rhode Island, Tennessee and Maryland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; brothers, Vincent (James), John, and Tony Meola; and sisters, Phyllis Secondino and Marie Bugielski. Lucie is survived by her son, Mark; daughter-in-law, Renee; and grandchildren, Kevin, Jordan, and Megan Humphrey. She lived in Washington, DC for 30 years before moving to Albuquerque in 1997 to live closer to her family. While here, she enjoyed traveling, gardening, genealogy, and spending time with her family. Lucie will be greatly missed by all those who knew her and loved her passion for life. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 15, 2006, 4:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel.
