ZIEGLER -- WILLIAM J. Poppy (William J.) Ziegler, 78, of Albuquerque, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2006. He was born on September 30, 1928. Poppy is survived by his wife of 54 years, JoAnn; children and their spouses, Jack and Lorraine Ziegler, Jim Ziegler, Yvonne and Jerry Sena, Sandi and Eddie Chavez; grandchildren, Zachary, Timothy, Jennifer, Mark, Jerry, Ryan, TyAnna; great-grandchildren, Sonye, Jaylen, and Devin; and sister, Charlotte and Dewey Mann and family. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Dolores and Hobart; sister, Jeanne Koster; brother, Albert Martinez; and granddaughter, Melanie. Mr. Ziegler was baptized at the Zuni Church of Christ and he attended the Netherwood Church of Christ. Poppy was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 82nd Airborne Unit. He was an avid runner, and a self-taught musician. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, kindness, and generosity. We love you, Poppy. Private Services have already been held and interment has taken place at Sandia Memory Gardens.
