REED -- William "Bill" Richard Reed, 81 years old, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on December 3, 2006 with his loving family surrounding him. He was born on October 24, 1925 and was raised in French New Mexico. He was a life-long resident of the state. He retired in 1990 from the National Weather Service as a Supervisory Electronics Tech. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a T/5. He also held high positions in the National Wildlife Federation and the New Mexico Wildlife Federation. Bill was known as an avid hunter and fisherman. He volunteered as an instructor for the hunter safety courses given by the Dept. of Game and Fish. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary of 51 years of the family home, his son Richard and wife Debi, his son Gerald and life companion Rebecca Stover, his daughter Carla and husband Rusty Trout who have three children; Justin and wife Cassie along with their daughters Elizabeth and Shannon, William and Shelby, daughter Billie and husband Doug Ehle who have three children; Nikki and husband Trever Johnson along with their son Braxton, Edward Ehle and Heather Ehle along with her daughter Sofia. His pallbearers will be the FCMC members. Honorary pallbearers are his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There will be an open viewing December 6, 2006 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Riverside Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on December 7, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the Community Church of the Sandias and Services will be conducted by Pastor Jim Cunningham. The Burial Services will be held on December 8, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. at the National Cemetary in Santa Fe. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made directly to the American Cancer Society Fund or the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to Riverside Funeral Home.
