DELOLLIS -- Dorothea Jean ("Dot") DeLollis passed away on Monday, November 13, 2006. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Dot was born on April 12, 1920, in Brockton, MA, to Tom and Louise Prince. She graduated from Brockton High School and Pierce Secretarial School. She met Nick DeLollis in Washington, D. C., where both were employed, and they married in 1948. They moved to Albuquerque in 1956, and, with their three children, took vacations in a different southwestern state each summer. Dot's love of the mountains and the outdoors led her to active participation in the Audubon Society, the New Mexico Mountain Club, and the Wildflower Society. For 25 years she made weekly hikes with groups from the Mountain Club and various Senior Centers, leading many of the hikes. She also volunteered with the U. S. Forest Service at their bookstore at the top of the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway and guided nature and wildflower hikes. Dorothea is survived by her husband, Nicholas DeLollis and their children, spouses, and grandchildren: Nicholas, Susan and Meggen DeLollis of Houston, TX; Michael, Ann, Erik and Kathryn DeLollis of Fresno, CA; Elizabeth and Rev. Adam Metropoulos of Bangor, ME; and foster daughter, Vo Thi Le Thuy, her husband, Tran Quoc Manh, and their daughter, Thien Trang, of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Dot was a lifelong member of the Unitarian Church. Memorial gifts may be contributed to the First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque, NM, or the Nature Conservancy.
