PHILPOTT -- Maurice Lee Philpott, 88, a resident of Albuquerque, died November 16, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Louise; and son, Matthew Lee Philpott and Patricia Moore of Corrales; and grandson, Marshall; a sister, Sally G. Sorrie and her late husband, Jack. Also survived by nephews, Tom Sorrie of Las Gatos, CA, Mike Sorrie of Sacramento, CA and Forrest Philpott of Kansas City, MO. Maurice was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Claude Philpott. Maurice was the son of the late Samuel and Gem Della Fulton Philpott. He was born in Estherville, IA on October 27, 1918 and lived in Illinois while he was growing up, moving to Albuquerque in 1952. He served in the U.S. Navy. He married Eleanor L. Crosiar on August 4, 1948 in Peoria, IL. He attended Bradley University in Peoria and the University of New Mexico. Maurice was in the mortgage business and a realtor in Albuquerque for many years. Maurice had a delightful sense of humor in spite of his physical disabilities. Maurice was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was interested in family history and served as Director of Family History Center for approximately 10 years at 5709 Haines NE. Family and friends will miss him. Interment will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. Cremation has already taken place.
