FARQUER -- Alfred "Al" Farquer, 75, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2006, in Albuquerque. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dolores Farquer of Albuquerque, NM; children, Lovina Merkey and husband, Bob of Edgewood, NM; Michael Farquer and wife, Gaelynne of Mesa, AZ; Julie Power and husband, Jamie of Albuquerque, NM; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren, who were the joy of his life. Al was born in Wagon Mound, NM in 1931. He graduated from New Mexico State University, with a degree in Electrical Mechanical Engineering after serving four years in the US Navy. Mr. Farquer was employed by Sperry/Honeywell for 35 years and was a consultant with the University of West Virginia after retirement. He was devoted to God, his family, and will be missed by all the lives he touched. A Memorial Rosary will be recited by The Marianites on Sunday, October 15, 2006, 5:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, October 16, 2006, 8:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2621 Vermont NE. Private interment of cremated remains will take place in Wagon Mound, NM at a later date.
