ABEYTA -- Sylvia B. Abeyta, born February 24, 1921 in Lemitar, NM, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 5, 2006. Sylvia is survived by her husband of 59 years, Greg; sons, Michael and Luis and his wife, Cyndie Abeyta; grandchildren, Francisco, Angela, and Maria Abeyta; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Abeyta; her siblings, Gricelda Baca, Guadalupe Lucero, Ruth Gonzales, Ramon Baca, Johnnie Baca, and Gregorio Baca. Sylvia was a schoolteacher in Socorro County before her marriage. She and Greg lived in Peralta for 16 years before moving to Albuquerque in 1978. Sylvia was always very active with the Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Sunday, October 8, 2006, 5:00 p.m. at French Mortuary Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass of the Resurrection will be Monday, October 9, 2006, 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Annunciation, Claremont and Vermont Streets with Rev. Bennett J. Voorhies, celebrant. Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, October 8, 3:00 p.m. until the Rosary at French Mortuary Lomas Chapel.
