CUNICO -- Vallie M. Cunico, age 93, died on September 13, 2006 in Raton, NM. She was born on November 7, 1912 in Roy, NM to John and Olive Burch Gibson. She was a longtime Raton resident and a member of the First Christian Church and the Christian Woman's Fellowship. Vallie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mike Cunico; grandson, Mike Gardiner; brother, John Gibson; sisters, Etta Arnold, Iva McFadden, Velma Curran, Beaulah Curran, and Anna Lee Gibson. She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Hooper of Cimarron, NM; three sons, Donald E. Cunico and wife, Shirley of Alamogordo, NM, John J. Cunico and wife, Georgia of Albuquerque; Gerald L. Cunico and wife, Karen of Kremling, CO; grandsons, Dean, Mike, Shane, Jeff, and Brad Cunico; granddaughters, Terrie Rienke, LaDonna Maxwell, Carrie Walter, Kathy Reece, Kaycee Hooper, Kara Mutz. She is also survived by her great- and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Saturday September 16, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home in Raton. Funeral Services will be on Saturday September 16, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church with Rev. Cleve Bishop officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmont Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Raton Nursing and Rehab in her name. Funeral arrangements for Vallie M.
