MCMILLAN -- LaVaughn Heuson McMillan, born January 1, 1929 in Clay Center, KS to William A. and Esther Seagren Heuson, died in Albuquerque on August 29, 2006. Mrs. McMillan is survived by her husband, Benny E. McMillan of Albuquerque; two daughters, Evelyn Vigil of Pennsauken, NJ and Lea Ann Hinde and husband, Jim of Albuquerque; son, Vaughn McMillan and wife, Kian of Tujunga, CA; five grandchildren, Johanna Vigil DeLeon and husband, Hector, Jesse Vigil, Matthew Hinde, Paul Hinde, and Jonathan Hinde; four great-grandchildren. In addition to being a loving mother and wife, she had a long and productive work career. She was employed by U.S. Atomic Energy Commission contractors, including the Zia Company and the University of California in Los Alamos, NM and Phillips Petroleum Company in Idaho Falls, ID. After leaving Los Alamos in 1970, she worked for engineering companies in Albuquerque, NM including two in which she and her husband had ownership interests. A memorial services will be held Friday September 1, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in Asbury United Methodist Church, 10,000 Candelaria Rd. NE. with Rev. Steven Davis officiating. The family prefers memorials to either the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
