TAYLOR -- Edith Taylor, 84, died on August 10,2006. Her husband Bob preceded her in death in 1990. She is survived by daughters, Betty Taylor of Albuquerque, Robin Taylor and husband, Woody Foster of Columbus, Ohio, Kerry Horton and husband, Wayne of Painesville, Ohio, Kris Conover and husband, Kurt of Albuquerque, New Mexico; four granddaughters, Sarah Mouhkliss and husband, Abdel of Columbus, Ohio, Elizabeth Palichat and husband, Eric of Dayton, Ohio, Shannon and Hailey Conover of Albuquerque; and great-granddaughter; Nora Mouhkliss. Edith was born and raised in Grand River, Ohio. She worked as an operator and union steward at Ohio Bell Telephone until she married Bob in 1950, and stayed home to raise their daughters. She and Bob moved to Albuquerque in 1979. Edith was known to many as "Grandma DeeDee," or "The Cookie Lady." She loved baking for her friends and neighbors, and was known for her love of hats adorned with sparkling hatpins. An optimist with a sense of humor, she faced years of medical difficulties with the mottos "It's all in the attitude," and "I'm in pretty good shape for the shape I'm in." Her family is thankful to the staff of "extended family" at Laurel Canyon Nursing Home and also the staff at Hospice of the Sandias. Affectionately nicknamed "Team Edith" for their NASCAR-like energy and skill, their kind hearts and loving care made Mom's final days joyful. Edith's wish was that no services be held. Instead, she wanted friends to gather at her daughter Kris' house to have donuts and coffee in her honor. Please join us for a celebration of Edith's life on Thursday, August 17th at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the resident fund at Laurel Canyon Nursing Home, or to the animal care or rescue society of your choice.
