MARTINEZ -- Eloy "Roy" F. Martinez, age 79, of Albuquerque, went home Saturday, August 12, 2006. Eloy was raised in Espanola and then Antonito, CO. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman who was especially skilled with his hands. Eloy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Rita; sons, Donaldo Ortega, Mark Martinez and his fiance, Marian Torres; daughters, Barbara Pereyra and husband Alberto, Sandra Lucero and husband, Leroy; grandchildren, Aaron, Andrea, Charlene, Victoria, Derek; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Alexis; brothers, Ernesto, Rudy; sisters, Rose, Mary and Lucy, Lourdes. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. A Rosary will be recited Thursday, August 17, at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary Westside Chapel, and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, August 18 at 10:00 a.m. at San Ysidro Catholic Church, 5015 Corrales Rd, Corrales, NM. Friends may visit Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the Rosary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 714 4th St., 87102.
