MONTOYA -- Santiago "Jimmie" A. Montoya, 82, of Santa Fe, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Friday, August 4, 2006. He was born on Santa Fe on July 25, 1924 in Cienegitas. Santiago was preceded in death by his parents, Filomeno and Juanita R. Montoya; brother, Joe P. Montoya; son-in-law, Claude Lucero; daughter-in-law, Theresa P. Montoya; and a sister-in-law, Amelia Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ida R. Montoya of Santa Fe; daughters, Virginia M. Lucero of Santa Fe and Anna J. Leuer and husband, Raymond of Sands, NM; a granddaughter raised by him as a daughter, Angela A.R. Montoya of the family home; sons, Jimmie E. Montoya, Jr. and Raymond J. Montoya; grandchildren, Jimmie Montoya III, Annette Montoya, Veronica Montoya, Raymond Montoya Jr. and wife, Diana; great-granddaughter, Monique Montoya; brothers, Dan Montoya and wife, Eloisa of Santa Fe; sisters, Antonia "Tonie" Martinez and husband, Kelly of Santa Fe, Cleo Valdez and husband, Oliver of Santa Fe; brother-in-law, Del Rodriguez and partner, Evangeline Clokey of Santa Fe; sister-in-laws, Aurelia Gonzales and husband, Tony of Albuquerque, and Linda Valles and husband, Gabe of El Paso, TX, Martina Montoya of Santa Fe, and Margaret Smith of Pleasanton, CA; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Visitation will take place Thursday morning, August 10, 2006 at 8:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where a Rosary will be prayed at 8:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:00 a.m. with Jimmie Montoya III, Danny Montoya, Marshall Martinez, Del Rodriguez, Mario Rodriguez, and Eddie Montoya serving as pallbearers.
