ZUKOWSKY -- Myron Zukowsky, age 87, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2006. He was born in Gary, Indiana on May 2, 1919 to the late Steven and Rose Zukowsky. Myron was a retired interior decorator for Bankers Building in Chicago, IL. He and his late wife, Marian moved to Belen in 1986. Myron was a member of the first Baptist Church of Belen. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corp as an airplane mechanic. Myron was one of the mechanics that serviced the B29 "Enola Gay" on its mission to Japan that dropped the A Bomb. He was a long time member of the Painters Union in Chicago. Myron had a beautiful singing voice and he studied under the famous singing coach, Gertrude Metzger. Myron loved his family dearly and he will be greatly missed by family and friends. Myron is survived by his two loving sons, Leith and his wife, Andrea of Tuscon, AZ, and Gregory and his wife, Kathy of Belen; one granddaughter, Hattie-Maria Zukowsky and one great-grandson, Nathanyal-Wyatte Zukowsky, both of Tuscon. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. A private viewing will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, August 7 at 1:00 p.m. All services will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel beginning with a viewing on Monday, August 7 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Final visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 8 from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery.
