DEMAREE -- Rowena I. Demaree, 85, born in Indiana on August 14, 1920 and a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Monday, July 24, 2006. She is survived by her son, Larry Demaree and wife, Sylvia of Glendale, AZ; daughters, Kay Martinelli and Richard Knittle and Belinda Demaree and Bob Patten of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Kelly Baldwin and husband, Jeff, Wende Biddle and husband, Mike, Joanna Perry and husband, George, and Krista Demaree; grandsons, Wayne Martin, AJ Demaree and wife, Lisa; great-grandchildren, Whitney and Joshua Baldwin, M'Lynne and Cade Biddle, Theresa and Aidan Perry, Teryn and Jacey Demaree; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members. An infant son and daughter; son, Terry Demaree; foster sister, Edna Mary Libecap; brother, Everett Heiser and wife, Hazel; and her parents, Walter and Elva Heiser, preceded Rowena in death. Rowena's parents were the owners of Speedway Park Race Track on South Eubank, which the original members of NMMRA helped to build. After the death of her parents, from 1950 through 1981, Rowena enjoyed many wonderful years as the owner of Speedway Park on South Eubank. She spent many years as a legal secretary and was an Avon representative for 22 years. Rowena will be remembered as a hard working individual up until her death. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary of her many friends and family and will be missed greatly. Friends may visit French Mortuary - Lomas Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE, on Friday, July 28, 2006 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Services will be held at French Mortuary - Lomas Chapel on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.
