SMITH -- Louie O. Smith, affectionately known as Papa by his grandchildren, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2006, at the age of 77. His unconditional love was equally divided amongst his surviving spouse, of 54 years, Sonia; five children, Robert Smith and wife, Julie Emery of Albuquerque; Sherry Million of Amarillo, TX, Laurel Teehan, Diane Smith, and Debi Randall and husband, Arlan, all of Albuquerque; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda; and two brothers, Billy and Blake. He was preceded in death by his mother, Era J. McKinney, and his step-father, Robert McKinney. Louie served in the Korean War and retired from Public Service Company of New Mexico after 32 years of service. Services will be held on Thursday, 1:00 p.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum located in Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
