GALLEGOS -- Consuelo Gallegos passed away in the loving presence of her family on Friday, July 21, 2006, at Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque. Consuelo resided in Rio Rancho with her husband Dan Gallegos for the past 21 years. Consuelo was born in Gallup New Mexico in 1927. She was a long time teacher and was active with the League of Women Voters in California; and was a champion of Migrant Education. She is preceded in death by her husband Dan Gallegos. Consuelo is survived by her son, Michael and wife, Rosita Gallegos of Manteca, California; son, James Gallegos of Albuquerque; and daughter, Georgina Pacheco of Albuquerque and Margaret Gallegos of California; sister, Eilleen Gonzales; brother J.E. Garcia; four loving grandchildren, Michael and wife, Daphne Gallegos of Davis California; Rachel Gallegos of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Katrina Gallegos of Albuquerque. She was also survived by several loving nieces and nephews throughout the country. Services will be held Thursday, July 27, 2006, at Immaculate Conception Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers remembrances can be made to Vista Care Hospice.
