LAMAR -- Susan Kent Lamar of Albuquerque, beloved daughter of Howard and Shirley Lamar of New Haven, CT, died on June 17, 2006 of cancer at Hospice in Albuquerque. She was 42 years of age. Susan was born in New Haven, CT on September 3, 1963. She received her B.A. from Yale University, cum laude, in History of Science in 1985, and also a Master's of Science in Nursing from the Yale School of Nursing in 1988. As a qualified Nurse Practitioner she first worked at the North End Clinic in Boston for four years before moving, on behalf of the U.S. Public Health Service, to Fort Defiance, AZ on the Navajo Reservation, where she remained for eight years. In 2000, she moved to Albuquerque to work for the Veterans Administration Hospital where she was employed until her death. Susan leaves behind her parents; and a sister, Sarah Lamar; and brother-in-law, Scott Gress of Savannah, GA; and three nephews, Geoffrey, Thomas, and Peter. A Memorial Service will be held at the Old San Ysidro Church, Old Church Road, Corrales, NM on July 22, 2006 at 11 a.m. Contributions in the memory of Susan K. Lamar can be made to the Susan G.
