GRIFFITH -- Charles "Ernie" Griffith Jr. of Rio Rancho passed away at home on Monday, May 29, 2006. He was born in Eaton, CO on January 22, 1919 to Ernest and Margaret Griffith. Ernie was preceded in death by a daughter, Louise Baggot and a grandson, Mike Baggot He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret of Rio Rancho; daughters, Tomi Griffith of Albuquerque, Vickie Odom of Edmond, OK, Sandi Thomas and husband, John of Albuquerque; sons, Danny Delgado of Albuquerque, David Delgado and wife, Louise of Albuquerque, and Richard Delgado and wife, Carina of Anaheim, CA; brother, Tom Griffith and wife, Peggy of Greely, CO; grandchildren, Rob Baggert of Phoenix, AZ, Brian Delgado of Albuquerque, Kate Odom of Chicago, IL, C.J. Thomas of Albuquerque, Nicole Thomas of Albuquerque, Ryan Delgado of Albuquerque, Jessica Delgado of Albuquerque, and Christy Riches of Salt Lake City, UT; and a great- granddaughter, Madeline Riches of Salt Lake City. Ernie served his country honorably in the U.S. Army in the Pacific during WWII; he was a 32 degree mason and a member of the Blue Lodge in Kansas. He was a district manager for Gate City Steel and owner and president of Wayne Metals Inc. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Community of Joy Lutheran Church on Northern and Saratoga in Rio Rancho. A reception will follow at the church. Inurnment will be at a later date at Fairview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to Community of Joy Lutheran Church or to a charity of your choice.
