BROWN -- CARRIE AGNES Services are scheduled for 9:00 a.m., Tuesday May 23. 2006 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, with Graveside Services at 1:15 p.m. at Estancia Cemetery in Estancia, NM for Carrie Agnes Brown, age 86, of Roswell, who passed away May 19, 2006. The family will have visitation from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2006 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel. Carrie Agnes Cochran was born November 11, 1919 in Estancia, NM to Albert Thompson Cochran and Carrie Agnes Berkshire Cochran. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers: Albert Cochran Jr., Edgar (Bud) Cochran, Jack Welch, and Bill Welch. Carrie Agnes Cochran married Charles Leslie Brown on September 25, 1948 in Chicago, IL. He also preceded her in death. Carrie Agnes is survived by her sons: Charles Leslie Brown, Jr. and his wife, Diane of Anaheim, CA, Raymond John Brown and his wife, Mary Jo of Cherry Valley, IL, Ralph James Brown and his wife, Martha Jane of Roswell, NM, Peter Edgar Brown and his wife, Allie of Lena, IL, William Robert Brown and his wife, Darlene of Corrales, NM. Carrie is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews. Carrie was born and raised in Estancia, where she was a graduate of Estancia H.S. Both her father, A.T. Cochran and her grandfather, John Berkshire served as mayors of Estancia. Shortly after her father's death her family moved to Chicago where she met her husband, Charles. Together they raised their family in Chicago and resided there until Charles retired. They moved back to Carrie's beloved New Mexico in 1977, residing in Roswell. She enjoyed spending time on her interests in genealogy, gardening and keeping up with her large family. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Pallbearers will be various family members. Honorary pallbearers will be the daughters-in-law. Arrangements are under the direction of LaGrone Funeral Chapel.
