ZETOCHA -- Ronald R. "Ron" Zetocha, Chief Master Sgt. (USAF Ret), 69, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on May 17, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Ronald was born February 20, 1937 in Grand Island, NE to Adeline and Sylvester Zetocha. Upon graduation Ron entered the Air Force where he served 30 years. During his service he had international tours of duty in Germany, Thailand, Italy, Korea, and Turkey. He also served stateside assignments in Texas, Wyoming, Nebraska, California, Nevada, and New Mexico before retiring in Albuquerque. After his retirement from the Air Force he worked as a Government Contractor for another ten years. He is survived by his loving wife, Helga; mother, Adeline of Boulder, CO; sister, Marilyn Thomsen and husband, Paul of Boulder, CO; brother, Paul and wife, Barbara of Tucson AZ; daughter, Rhonda LaBonte of Moreno Valley, CA; son, Paul and wife, Erin of Albuquerque; son, Neal and wife, Bettina of Raleigh NC; as well as several grandchildren. His hobbies included restoring old cars, and working out at the Kirtland AFB gym where he had made many friends. A viewing will be held at French Mortuary on Lomas Blvd. on Sunday, May 21, 2006 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. A Rosary for Ron will be recited on Monday morning, May 22, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. at the French Mortuary Lomas Blvd. Chapel. Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with full military honors.
