MCMAHAN -- Dorothy "Dottie" McMahan, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, May 10, 2006. Her sons, Larry McMahan and wife, Myrna of Singapore and John McMahan and wife, Tracey of Albuquerque survive her. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Mac. Dorothy was born in Cortez, CO in 1923, loved people, and never met a stranger. She became the first woman police officer in Santa Fe, NM. She owned and operated the Merle Norman Cosmetics franchise in Las Vegas, NV. Dorothy then resided in Cortez, CO where she owned and managed the La Jolla Village condominium complex. She retired in Albuquerque, NM, loved world travel and collecting seashells. Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held in Durango, CO at a later date.
