ROMNEY -- Ruth Call Romney passed peacefully away May 4, 2006, after many years of living with cancer. She was born December 23, 1912, in Brigham City, Utah, one of 11 children of Justin David Call and Lula Bryan Call. Her husband of 68 years, Keith Romney, preceded her in death in 2003, and she has rejoined him in their Eternal marriage. Ruth has three children, Carolyn Bennett of Albuquerque, NM (John A.); and sons, Keith (Kit) Romney, Jr. (Julie) and Bryan M. (Lorelei) of Salt Lake City; and 17 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren, lovingly known as "Little-bits." Ruth had the gift of charity, embracing all she knew with genuine love and appreciation, and lived a life of service in the church and the community. Her faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ was firm. She served with her husband when he was called to be president over two missions, one in California and one in Mexico. A daughter of Mormon pioneers, she saw the Church grow to become a worldwide force, sending sons and grandchildren to carry the gospel as missionaries. Ruth never saw an idle moment. Her home was filled with her paintings and ceramics. She created her wardrobe, and sewed and knitted for her children. Beauty was her inspiration, and she shared that appreciation with friends and family. She left memoirs of her life, and family history of ancestors, and encouraged all to do the same. Her courage will inspire generations who call her blessed. Funeral services were held on Monday, May 8th at 12:00 Noon, Brighton 12th Ward, 2895 E. Creek Rd. (8000 So.), Sandy, UT with viewings on Sunday, May 7th from 6 - 7 p.m. at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. 7600 So., S.L.C., UT and from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. before the funeral. Thanks go to the wonderful staff at The Wentworth at Cottonwood, Assisted Living and Caresource Hospice.
