MARTINEZ -- Johnnie T. Martinez was born April 4, 1924 in Pecos, NM. He passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006 in Albuquerque. Johnnie honorably served his country in the US Army and received a Purple Heart. Preceded in death by his first wife, Merci in 1993, Johnnie is survived by his wife, Pauline; children, Maribeth, Rick, Ted, Robert, Sandra, Michelle, Rosemary, and Jerry; brothers, Cipriano Martinez and wife, Flora, Arthur Martinez, Eloy Martinez and wife, Sophie; sister, Eloisa Ortiz; sister-in-law, Edna Martinez; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas NE, with a Rosary being recited on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., with U.S. Army Honors. Pallbearers will be Donnie Martinez, Jerry Garcia, Isaac Romero, Daniel Perez, Steve Martinez, Antonio Santiago, Danial Martinez, and Robert Martinez.
