REID -- Elvira Reid was given her wings and flew with the angels on March 16, 2006. Elvira was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She was living in Sanger, CA when she bid us all farewell. Elvira was born in Chicago, IL on May 19, 1929 to Henry and Adeline Zaremski. Elvira was married to Alex Reid for 49 years before his passing in 2002. Most of her life was spent living in Albuquerque, NM which she loved and where she worked in the insurance industry and as a homemaker. After residing in New Mexico for over 40 years, Elvira moved to California to be close to her sons and their families. Elvira and her husband spent several years traveling throughout the west after retirement and loved this time of their lives. Elvira took great pride in her two sons and their families. She is survived by her sister, Leona Matteson of Woodstock, GA; son, Alex Reid and his wife, Valerie of Huntington Beach, CA; son, Philip Reid and his wife, Catherine of Clovis, CA. Elvira's two favorite past-times were quilting and reading a good book. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. But we are comforted knowing she is now in God's kingdom and freed from pain and illness. A Gravesite Funeral Service will be held at Vista Verde Cemetery located in Rio Rancho on March 31, 2006 at 1:30 p.m.
