MCVAY -- Lou Anne McVay, 86, of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2006. She was born June 17, 1919 in Omaha, NE to the late Graydon Jackson and Leila Stewart Jackson. She married Richard B. McVay on July 25, 1942 in Long Beach, CA. Lou Anne was a homemaker and served in several volunteer organizations including The Cosmopolitan Club and the Presbyterian Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Lou Anne met the challenges and rigors of raising a family as a military wife while her husband was frequently assigned to duty overseas. She did this all with great strength and dignity. Lou Anne is survived by her husband of 63 years, Lt. Col. Richard B. McVay, (USAF - Ret.); a daughter, Marcy Cates and her husband, Bob; a son, Grady McVay and his wife, Julianne, all of Albuquerque; and a granddaughter, Lara Siegenthaler and her husband, Eric of Tyler, TX. The family's heartfelt thanks go to the "family" of Casa Palo Duro and Zia Hospice for their little acts of kindness, their continuing compassion and their loving care. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 12:00 p.m., at. French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Private interment will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Honorary pallbearers will be Elliot Airmet, Henry Bommelaere, Jim Davis, Miller Cravens, Bob Cates, and David Tuttle.
