TENORIO -- Rita Tenorio, 85, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died peacefully, Monday, February 27, 2006, after a short stay at Valle Norte Caring Center where she was lovingly cared for. Rita was one of the youngest of 18 children who were born in small ranching towns in Eastern New Mexico. She is survived by her sister, best friend, Ms. Leonides Sierra, she was also her Comadre (Godmother), and helped raise Joseph, Robert (deceased), Margaret, and Arthur Sierra. Rita lived many years with her sister, Lilly Tenorio together they gave hospitality and love to the many nieces and nephews, of whom 38 are still living. She is survived also by many grandnieces, nephews, friends and Godchildren. A special thanks to Josie Uher, Mary Mirabal, Joy Sierra, and many dear others who were caregivers in the years that Rita and Lilly were in fragile health. Rita belonged to San Ignacio Parish since the early 1940s. She had great devotion to God, and the Virgin of Guadalupe, she visited the Shrine a few times in her lifetime. She gave to many charities in her life and had a great love for any one in need. We were Blessed to have known and been loved by her. Rosary will be recited Friday, March 3, 2006, at 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 4, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Therese Little Flower Church, 300 Mildred Ave. NW, with Father Ron Carrillo, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Arthur, Jason, Marcus Sierra, Artie Gomez, Robert Tenorio, Anthony Alderate. Friends may visit French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, Friday, March 3, 2006, 6:00 p.m. to Rosary. A reception will take place at St. Therese Little Flower Church reception hall following interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady's Youth Center c/o N. and N.
