CHAVEZ -- John J. Chavez, age 70, died peacefully in his bed, Saturday, December 31, 2005, after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Salomon and Isabel Chavez and his wife, Dommie. John leaves behind his sons, Chris and wife, Yris, Michael and Mark; his daughter, Desi Ramirez and husband, Jimmy; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Memorial Services will be held at Santuario de San Martin Catholic Church, 8312 Camino San Martin SW. A Rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2006. Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2006. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. with United States Air Force Honors.
