LANE -- Jeannette D. Lane, age 97, a native of Edgerton, WI, died Sunday, November 13, 2005, in Albuquerque, NM. Born in Edgerton, WI on August 8, 1908, daughter of John A. Dickerson and Edna Mae (Tracy) Dickerson, Jeannette graduated Edgerton High School 1926, received a certificate in dental hygiene at Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 1927, and was employed as dental hygienist for Dr. Fred Meyers of Edgerton. "June" married William H. Lane of Altavista, VA, on September 7, 1929. Mr. Lane was employed in the leaf tobacco business in Madison and LaCrosse, WI, and in 1945 moved to Edgerton, where he was the manager of Badger State Tobacco Company. Mr. and Mrs. Lane resided at 808 North Main. Mr. Lane died in 1983 after 53 years of marriage. Mrs. Lane remained in the home in Edgerton until moving temporarily to her daughter's home in Albuquerque, NM. Survivors include son, William H. Lane, Jr. (Jacqueline) of Aurora, CO; daughter, Mary Sue Lane McConnell (Dr. Thomas S.) of Albuquerque; and grandchildren, William James Lane of Littleton, CO, Susan Jeannette Lane of Saratoga, WY, and Thomas S. McConnell II, Dr. William Lane McConnell, and Susan Marie McConnell, all of Albuquerque. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers; and four sisters. Private services will be conducted at a later date.
