LARKIN -- Dorothy Ann Larkin, 84, a resident of Socorro, NM since 1979, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2005. Dorothy was born August 24, 1921, the daughter of Ray and Ann B. Vandaalen Lancaster in Vermillion, SD. She had worked with animal shelters, was a member of the Pilot Club, and she helped care for battered women. Dorothy enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Steven Anderson and one granddaughter. Dorothy is survived by her children, Barbara Peace and husband, Joe Pimental of Roatan, Hunduras, Cheryl Schaefer of Albuquerque, and Michael Anderson of Truth or Consequences, NM; one sister, Mabel Chamley and husband, Everette of Coos Bay, OR; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2005. The Service for Dorothy will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. It has been suggested that memorial contributions be made in Dorothy's name to The Animal Protective Association of Socorro, P.O. Box 451, Socorro, NM 87801-0451.
