NORRIS -- William F. Norris June 8, 1918 - October 20, 2005 Bill was born at the end of World War I in Altoona, PA, and lost his father when he was only 8. He was sent to Catholic boarding school in Linton, VA and then attended Pennsylvania Normal School as a young man. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines. His beloved wife of 55 years, Freda, preceded him in death in 1998. Bill and Freda lived a nomadic life until they settled in Scottsdale in the 1950s where Bill oversaw maintenance duties at Ride N Rock Rancho for many years. From there they moved to West Palm Beach in the 1960s where he managed the Palm Beach Spa maintenance until his retirement. Three years after his beloved wife Freda died, Bill moved to New Mexico to live with his daughter, Diana and son-in-law, Dermod Kelleher. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Brann Kelleher of Colorado, Blair Kelleher and wife, Faith of Maryland, and Kieran Kelleher of Colorado; and one great grandchild, Dorsey Kelleher. His grandchildren cherish memories of him playing with their bantam rooster, Rudy, the many fishing trips he went on with the family, and his quirky sense of humor. During Desert Storm he kept his eldest grandson supplied with various sundries and contraband which he mailed to Saudi Arabia. In June of 2005, a celebration of his 87th birthday took place in Corrales, NM and was attended by his many friends in that town. A celebration of Bill's life will be held at the family home in Corrales on Sunday, from 2 - 4 p.m., 111 Cottonwood Rd., Corrales, NM. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary Rio Rancho, New Mexico 892-9920
