MILLER -- Gordon L. "Gordo" Miller, 81, of Cumming, GA died July 5, 2005 at Northside Hospital Forsyth following a brief illness. Born August 24, 1924 in Carrolton, MO to E. Lester and Carrie Carter Reilly Miller, Mr. Miller had resided in Cumming for the past 9 months, moving here from Molokai, HI. He attended the University of Maine in Orono and received his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from Union College in Schenectady, NY. Following graduation, he stayed and taught at the college for 2 years. As Test Site Director for Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM, Mr. Miller enjoyed a 37 year life career in weaponry testing and development. He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and, as a member and director of the International Lions Club in Molokai, HI, he worked for many years helping the Lions Club Eye Bank. He was also a Docent at the Meyer Sugar Mill Museum on Molokai. Mr. Miller was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist in Roswell, GA. He was an incredible husband and father. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Doris Miller of Cumming, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Larry Muller of The Woodlands, TX, Tracey and Chad Witmeyer of Cumming, GA; son, Reilly C. Miller of Cedar Crest, NM; brother and sister-in-law, Col. Clark J. Miller (USAF Ret.) and Sue Miller of Austin, TX; four grandchildren, Brittany Lynn Muller, Jordan and Eric Willcox and Caleb Miller; and a nephew, Bradley Miller. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at McDonald and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Cox and Ms. Virginia Van Gelderen, First Reader officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at McDonald and Son Funeral Home. You may express condolences on-line at www.mcdonaldandson.com.
