BENTLEY -- Ronald Bentley, 64, a resident of Albuquerque passed away Monday, June 13, 2005 in Arlington, VA, after the onset of a sudden illness. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gloria Bentley; son, J. Douglas Bentley and wife, Robyn of Albuquerque; daughter, Debra Cabrales and husband, Steve of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Aaron, Lorin and Drew Bentley and Christina, Stephanie, Alicia and Michael Cabrales; two great-grandchildren, Devin and Haley; and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Ron was a Senior Engineer with Sandia National Laboratories supporting the National Nuclear Security Administration Office of Policy and Planning as a technical advisor on nuclear weapons issues. He had over 39 years of experience in national security programs with Sandia National Laboratories. He also served as a Sandia Technical advisor to the Nuclear Weapons Council Standing Safety Committee. Prior to his work in Washington, Ron served as the range manager for DOE's Tonopah Test Range. He started his career as an instrumentation engineer and was responsible for development and fielding of flight data systems in support of nuclear weapon development programs. Ron was the president of the Board of Directors of the International Foundation of Telemetering, a professional organization that promotes education of the art and science of telemetry. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2005, 10:00 a.m. at Calvary of Albuquerque, 4001 Osuna NE, with Pastor Dave Row officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Friends may visit Monday, June 20, 2005, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
