WILMOT -- Gregory Gordon Wilmot, of San Luis Obispo, CA passed away suddenly from an epileptic seizure at his home Thursday, May 26, 2005 the day before his 21st birthday. A Funeral Service was held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday June 1, 2005 at Wheeler-Smith Mortuary Chapel, 2890 S. Higuera in San Luis Obispo, CA; Family Services will be held in his hometown on Saturday, June 4, 2005 in Etna, CA. Born May 27, 1984 in Albuquerque, NM to Robert and Debra Wilmot, Greg was an outstanding individual. He was actively involved in Future Farmers of America in both his high school in New Mexico at Los Lunas, and at Etna High School, in Etna, CA where he graduated in 2002. Greg served as FFA Vice- president of the Superior Region, receiving his State FFA degree in 2001. At the National FFA Convention in Louisville, KY in 2003, Greg was awarded the American FFA Degree, the most prestigious award given in the Future Farmers of America. During his high school career, Greg served as Boy's State Delegate from Etna, was a member of the National Honor Society and was listed in Who's Who in American High Schools. He excelled academically throughout his life. Greg was a student at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, completing his third year majoring in Agricultural Business. He continued to be an active member of the FFA organization, serving as President of the Cal Poly Collegiate FFA Chapter for the 2004-2005 school year. He was recently awarded the Star Chapter Farmer Award at Cal Poly. He loved all aspects of agriculture and was making preparations for his acceptance to UC Davis Law School. It was Greg's goal to become an attorney and represent the rights of the farmers and ranchers of the State of California. He touched many people in his short, but amazing life and was an example to all who knew him. Greg leaves a legacy of life to survivors: his beloved parents, Robert and Debra Wilmot; little sister, Sara Wilmot; girlfriend, Kristin Miller; his wonderful friends and roommates, Jeff, Tyce, Andrew, and Kenny; co-workers at Sears; all those who knew him; and his beloved dog, Harley.
