CYGAN -- Raymond Cygan, 87, of Albuquerque, NM, died April 12. Ray was born in Chicago, IL on March 14, 1918. He was preceded in death in 2002 by his wife of 54 years, Janet Marie (Gawel) Cygan. Ray was the proud father of Susan Evans of South Riding, VA, Gary Cygan of Chicago, IL and Randy Cygan of Albuquerque, NM. He was grandfather to Tracy, Bret, Kate, and Nora. Ray is survived by his sister Mabel of Phoenix, AZ and brother Gilbert of Oakbrook, IL. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. Ray spent 42 years working for National Plan Service in Chicago, and yet found time to create and run a small company, Draperies by Raymond. He and Janet relocated in retirement to New Mexico in 1986. Ray was a dedicated husband, father, and friend. He inspired all he touched through encouragement and example. Industrious at work, energized at play. . . Ray enriched all our lives. His life may be celebrated through donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 800-272-3900; www.alz.org.
