PARKER -- Louise W. Parker, a resident of Albuquerque since 1978, died on Friday, April 8, 2005. She was born in South Bend, IN on Friday, December 31, 1909; she was the only child of Emma and Clem Whiteman. Following high school she attended Ferry Hall in Lake Forest, IL, and St. Mary's College in South Bend. She married Dr. Carlisle K. Parker, a family physician in South Bend. The family enjoyed many years in their summer home at Birch Lake, MI. She was active in Thalia Sorority in South Bend, The Weavers Guild in Niles, MI, and as a den mother for the Cub Scouts. She was a long time member of the Grey Ladies at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. In 1978 she and her husband moved to Albuquerque and later, in 1996, to the Montebello Retirement Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlisle, and by her granddaughter, Nancy. She is survived by her sons, Carl and wife, Kay, of Vero Beach, FL and Bruce and wife, Janet, of Albuquerque. She also leaves five grandsons: David (and Judith) of Plano, TX, Andy (and Kathleen) of Denver, CO, Jeff (and Elaine) of Albuquerque, Michael (and Christine) of Cincinnati, OH and Tom (and Lynn) of Denver, CO. Also surviving are 15 great-grandchildren. She was a selfless and nurturing wife and mother who had a special lifelong fondness for children. She found her most cherished joys in anticipating and then savoring the many special visits with her great-grandchildren and their parents. Her final years were made more comfortable by the wonderful care of Mary B. Garcia, her devoted friend, and many other gentle caregivers. The family is also indebted to Presbyterian Hospice for their care and guidance.
