WOLFF -- Lucille M. Wolff In Loving Memory 1916-2005 Lucille was born in Chicago, IL. She graduated from Carl Schurz High School, 1933, The American Conservatory of Music, 1934, Chicago Normal College, 1937, and De Paul University, 1939. She married William Baylis Wolff on May 5, 1941 and had one daughter, Mary, in 1942. They soon left Chicago and headed West, spending a year in Roswell, then moving to Albuquerque in 1947. There she became a teacher for the Albuquerque Public Schools. She taught fifth grade at Coronado Elementary School and was the school librarian at McKinley Junior High. After 34 years of service, she retired in 1976. She then had time to pursue other interests such as dressmaking, embroidery, traveling, and bridge. She also belonged to the Retired Teachers Association and had many good friends. Though her husband died in 1968, Lucille remained in Albuquerque until 1994, at which time she moved to Arcadia, CA to be closer to her daughter, Mary, and son-in-law, Richard Archibald. She enjoyed her family, including granddaughters, Elizabeth and Katherine, and great-granddaughters, Lauren and Danielle. It was a special time for them to be together. Lucille died on the second day of spring, March 21, 2005, of complications of Alzheimer's dementia. The family is bringing Lu back to her beloved New Mexico for burial near her husband, Bill. Services will be at the Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM on Monday, March 28, 2005 at 11:00 a.m.
