BLISSENBACH -- Valeska Hanah Blissenbach, age 86, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, March 25, 2005. She was born in Astoria, New York on January 28, 1919 to William and Valeska (Kopp) Garland. She was a nurse in the U.S. Army and also worked as an operating room nurse after her military service was complete. On December 10, 1945, she married Leonard J. Blissenbach in Bayside, New York. They spent many hours together throughout their lives fishing, watching sports, and just enjoying each other's company. Valeska is survived by her four daughters, Valeska A. Blissenbach of Albuquerque, Gayle Venturelli of Montana, Angela Seigel and husband, Marty of Texas, and Leona Stredwick and husband, Bruce of Montana; a son, Leonard Blissenbach and wife, Patty of California; a sister Frances Bebensee and husband, Ralph of Nebraska; grandchildren, Laura, Ben, Sam, Maurina, Bonnie, Sonja, Lindsey, Katelyn, Leona Christine, Andrew, and Leo; great-grandchildren, Cullen, Evan, and Kaylee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard on May 4, 1997; and a grandson, Aaron Casey. Services for Valeska Blissenbach will be private.
