HOLCOMBE -- Homer F. Holcombe, 86, passed away on March 21, 2005. Homer was born in Cedar Rapids, IA on June 1, 1918. He moved to Albuquerque with his parents at three years of age. He graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1936. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard and served during World War II. While in the service, he met and married Roselee Neel, who preceded him in death. Homer is survived by five children, Kathy Spencer and husband, Jim, of Big Sandy, TX, Glenna Mitchell and husband, Allan, of Albuquerque, Harold Holcombe and wife, Jacque, of Los Lunas, Sandy Marcus and husband, Charlie, of San Juan Pueblo, and Susan Broekstra and husband, Pete, of Los Lunas. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Homer was a printer. He belonged to the International Typographical Union and worked for the Albuquerque Tribune 40 years, retiring in 1981. He loved photography, poetry, built his own home as well as helped build his son's home. He was a loving father and grandfather.
