MOHR -- Douglas C. Mohr died peacefully, as he had requested, on March 11, 2005 at approximately 10 p.m. MST at the Care Home where he resided in Albuquerque, NM. He was born on July 14, 1943. He was 60 years old. He had suffered from a progressive neurological illness for over a decade. Douglas Mohr played a losing hand well. He earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from Caltech in 1973 and held many positions as a research scientist, among them in DNA research. He will be remembered for his extensive life experience and knowledge, his courage, and his loyalty to reality and to his beloved wife, Pamela, who never left his side. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 15 years, Pamela; his caregivers; Corncob, also a loyal friend; and as he would probably add, by "everything and everybody else that's still alive." It is up to each individual who knew him to hold whatever services they choose for his life and for that part of his life that was his death.
