ROE -- Charles David Roe, 74, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2005 in his home. Chuck was born Monday, March 17, 1930 to Jenny and Samuel Roe in Rocky Ford, CO. In Rocky Ford, he worked as a school bus driver and for the Coca-Cola Company. He graduated from La Junta Junior College in La Junta, CO with his Associates in Business Administration in 1951. He then admirably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, he then went on to receive his BSBA in 1957 and his M.B.A in Accounting in 1958 from the University of Denver. Upon graduation, Chuck began working for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, where he retired in 1993 as Chief of Payroll. Chuck married the love of his life, Jo Roe, on December 16, 1967. Chuck was extremely devoted to his family. He was a loving husband who supported Jo in everything she did. He participated in his children's sports activities, and was a cornerstone in their lives. He adored his grandchildren and took every opportunity to spoil them. Chuck was an active member of St. John's United Methodist Church, where he served as an Usher, was a member of the A&M Sunday School Class, attended the Disciple and Bethel Classes. He was a devout patriot. Chuck was a devoted fan of the Denver Broncos. He was very interested in political and current events and enjoyed comedy and political satire. In his retirement, he enjoyed his "Koffee Klatch" with his cronies from the BIA. He also enjoyed staying in touch with friends and family over the internet and going for long walks with his dog, Elway. Chuck is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jo; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Anita of Albuquerque, Jon and Pamela of Coopersburg, PA; grandchildren, Taryn and Kayleigh (Dave and Anita), Matthew and Nathaniel (Jon and Pam); brothers, Alfred of Rock Ford, CO and Paul of Manzanola, CO; sister, Alice Johnston of Pueblo, CO; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday, March 10, 2005 at St. John's United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM.
