MEADOR -- Alton Meador, 76, youngest of 10 children, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, January 17, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joan Meador of Albuquerque; sons, Lee Meador and wife, Sarah of Arlington, TX and Craig David Meador and wife, Pam of Norton, MA; daughter, Jan Ellen Lemmons and husband, Paul of Tucson, AZ; son, Alan Meador and wife, Angel of Garland, TX; nine grandchildren, Chris Lemmons, Kara Meador, Alyssa Meador, Eric Lemmons, Meredith Meador, Aaron Meador, Marnie Lemmons, Kayla Lemmons, and Kathryn Meador; sister, Lois Brown and husband, Ken of Redwood City, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Marie Meador; parents, W.T. and Cora Meador; as well as eight brothers and sisters. Mr. Meador was born and raised in Portales, NM and graduated from Portales High School in 1946. He was in the US Air Force from 1946 to 1949. Mr. Meador attended ENMU for two years and graduated from UNM in 1953 with a degree in electrical engineering. After two years at Douglas Aircraft in California, he went to work for Sandia Labs for 36 years, retiring in 1991. Alton was very active and a faithful member in the Church. He was a longtime Elder and Deacon. Alton and his family helped establish the San Pedro, Montgomery, and Northeast Churches of Christ in Albuquerque. He was an important part of the development of Camp Blue Haven near Las Vegas, NM. This was a source of joy, spiritual uplifting, and renewal for himself, his family, many other Christians, and will be for future generations. Services will be held Friday, January 21, 2005, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Cremation will follow. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Thursday, January 20, 2005, 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, January 21, 2005, 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Blue Haven, P.O.
