THOMSON -- Lu Lu Lenora Thomson passed away peacefully in her sleep January 13, 2005 in El Paseo, TX. She was born to Charles Albert and Lu Lu Ford Christa May 15, 1911 in Roswell, NM. Lu Lu started school in Belen, NM and graduated high school in Clovis, NM. She also attended classes at Eastern New Mexico University. She married Gerald Benjamin Thomson SR in 1930. They had three children Gerald, Bon, and Therma. Lu Lu was past president of the Las Vegas Women's Club. She was Advertising Manager for the "Portales Dailey News." the "Las Vegas Optic," and the "Alpha News." She was also a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and a lifetime member of the Rio Grande Branch of Pen Women. Lu Lu was a talented poet and received many honors for her published works throughout her life. She was a member of the Church of Christ wherever she lived, and always used her talents writing the bulletin and teaching Sunday school. Lu Lu was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; her son, Bon Albert; her brothers, Charles and Clarence; and her sister, Cristine; and by her grandchildren, Sarah Thomson and Collin Keene. She is survived by daughter, Therma Katherine Keene (husband Gary); and son, Gerald Benjamin Thomson Jr. (wife Amelia); and daughter in law, Nona Thomson. She had fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great- grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the NM Christian Children's Home, 1356 NM 236, Portales, NM 88130.
