BARELA -- Rose T. Barela, 95, passed away at home January 7, 2005. A lifelong resident of New Mexico, she was born in Tularosa, NM, September 10, 1909, married Leonardo Barela December 26, 1925, and had six children. She is survived by three daughters: Angelina Pena, Rosie Chavez of Las Cruces, NM, Lupe Torres of Colombus, MS; two sons, Willie Barela of Las Cruces, NM, Leonardo Barela Jr. of Tuson, AZ; 227 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren, making it a 6 generation family tree. A Memorial Service will be held at New Beginnings Church of God, 3601 Montgomery Blvd. NE 87109, on Monday, January 10, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers send donations to New Beginnings Church of God to fund Youth Activities.
