MARTINEZ -- David M. Mr. David M. Martinez, 80, born in Marquez, New Mexico and a resident of Albuquerque, passed peacefully at home on December 6, 2004 with his loving family at his side. Mr. Martinez is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-four years, Erlinda; his children, Mary Lou Vigil and husband, Tony, Joe R. Martinez and domestic partner, Bernadette Romero, Georgia Torres, Walter Martinez and girlfriend, Wilma, Dennis D. Martinez and girlfriend Angela D. Vigil, Veronica Gonzales, Lawrence Martinez and wife, Stella A., Loretta Martinez, Louisa Vigil and husband, Ben, Phil F. Martinez and wife, Domincia A., Casey Martinez and partner, Remy Rotenier; his brother, Florenio Martinez and wife, Mary; twenty grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Martinez was a member of the Catholic Church and worked for the NM Taxation and Revenue for over thirty years and worked for Walmart for four years and also for Washington Middle School for four years. He loved ranching in his early years, but the happiest day of his life was when he married his wife, Erlinda. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. by the Legion of Mary. Final visitation will be Thursday morning in the Church from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Patrick Martinez, Anthony Vigil, David Martinez, Christopher Martinez, Joseph Martinez and Aaron Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be his grand and great-grandchildren.
