CONTEGIACOMO -- Angelo Paul Contegiacomo, 80, beloved father, husband, son, and brother, completed this life's journey on Monday, November 29, 2004. "Paul" was born October 4, 1924, the son of Italian immigrants, Dominic and Cosmina Ramondi Contegiacomo in Utica, New York. Growing up in New Jersey, Paul received his Bachelor's degree from Montclaire Teachers College. A veteran and civil servant, he was instrumental in helping to launch America's first satellite communications network. After retiring to New Mexico in 1988, Paul became a master gardener. He loved to dance and was a member of the Albuquerque Swing and Ballroom Dancing group. He danced right up until his last days. Besides dancing and gardening, his loves were his family, Italian food, and red wine. Every week Paul brought bread from a local bakery and delivered it to St. Felix Pantry to be shared by the families they served. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Paul is survived by his loving family: spouse, Julie Theresa Contegiacomo; five children, Marie Badarani, Diane Ward, Monica Contegiacomo, Paul Contegiacomo, and Joseph Contegiacomo; two brothers, Mario Contegiacomo and Alfred P. Contegiacomo; two grandchildren, Janine and Nicole; and two great-granchildren, Basem and Safi. The Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, December 1, 2004 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 10:30 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd., Rio Rancho.
