SKENDER -- Romayne Skender, 80, a resident of Luna, NM, died Oct. 29, 2004. Born Feb. 1, 1924, in Athens, AR, she was the daughter of Clement and Arrie Miller. Romayne formerly owned and operated a craft store, and was a Girl Scout leader and sales representative for May Kay cosmetics. She loved the mountains and enjoyed any opportunity to be outdoors fishing, hunting, and wood-gathering. She is survived by her husband, Antonio Skender; three children, James A. Skender and fiancee, Michelle Lopez of Albuquerque, Beverly Goetz and husband, Lanny of Rio Rancho, and Gloria Swapp of Pleasanton, TX; seven grandchildren, Arrie, Danielle, Melissa, Alan, Jon, Leanne, and Kaitlin; one brother ,Troy Miller of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews. Romayne will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who especially loved babies. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 3, 2004, from 11 a.m. to noon. Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 3, at noon, in Vista Verde Mortuary Chapel, 4310 Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln. in Rio Rancho. Pallbearers will be: Alan Swap, John Goetz, Danny Miller, Lanny Goetz, Lance Swapp, and Wayne Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Miller and Paul Miller. Interment follows in Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE at Edith. Arrangements by Vista Verde Memorial Park and Mortuary, 892-9920
