DOAK -- Robert Bennett Doak, 73, a resident of Rio Rancho, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004. Born in Tulsa, Okla., Robert is the son of Frank William Doak and Clara Octavia Reeves. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Wilma Lee Warden Doak. A CPCU, Robert was a claims manager for 35 years for Cravens, Dargan and Company, later named St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company. He lived in Amarillo, Texas, and then moved to Bloomington, Minn., before coming to New Mexico in 1994. Robert attended West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of Alameda Bible Church. Robert was preceded in death by his daughter Charlotte in 2003. Survivors also include his brother Frank Doak of Sand Springs, Okla., and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 19, 4-8 p.m., at Vista Verde Mortuary, 4310 Sara Rd., in Rio Rancho. A funeral service will be Wednesday, Oct. 20, at 3 p.m. in Vista Verde Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Malcom Bicker officiating. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park.
